And to the point of Seaver being being THE guy for fans of a certain age with Piazza being THE guy for others (I'm in the latter category myself), combining this with the previous article on black jerseys, I think it's mostly the Seaver generation of fans being opposed to the black jerseys. Not saying that every single person in that age group opposes it, but every time I hear someone say they don't like the black jerseys they're usually someone that at least got to witness a Mets championship or two.
